Description
Back in Portwenn, a year has passed and Doctor Martin Ellingham still isnt practicing as a doctor. But the big change is the arrival of the Ellinghams new daughter, Mary Elizabeth, who is now 4 months old. Martin has fully embraced the role of househusband: his fastidiousness in the role is annoying at times for Louisa. Louisa is now seeing her therapy clients out of Martins consulting room, but before long she is back in the phlebotomy room, as a medical emergency and both Louisa and Ruths guidance, helps Martin acknowledge that he really does want to be a doctor again. He sets about getting his license back. With Martin now practicing again, Mrs Tishell can put her Bring Back Our Doctor campaign to rest, believing she was instrumental in getting the Doc back. She now fancies spending her spare time on Radio Portwenn, as a part-time radio DJ. This isnt the only new role in the village - Martin has hired a local boy, Max, as Portwenn Surgery receptionist, given Morwenna has moved on and is making her way up the corporate ladder. Morwenna ends up working with the Doc after the owner of a house she is trying to sell collapses. She realises more money doesnt guarantee happiness and being an Estate Agent goes against her moral compass; she cares too much for people. But doesthe Doc want her back? Morwenna isnt the only one making a success of herself: Al is too, as he now has his own mobile food truck business that does a roaring trade at local events and beaches. On the other hand though, things arent looking great for Bert, after Caitlin kicks him out, citing his laziness as one of the reasons. Al feels the need to help the situation, fearing his dad will end up permanently moving in and Morwenna permanently moving out! But with the help of Morwenna, Al finds Bert a local caravan site he can lease a home and job all rolled into one.
