Prohibited Items

Adult items: Some adult toys can be sold on our platform, but we do not allow the sale of pornography.

Weapons: Items that could also be considered weapons or instruments of torture, or anything illegal are not allowed.

Animals and wildlife products – examples include live animals, mounted specimens and ivory.

Alcohol. Alcohol can be sold, but we need you to be a licensed to sell alcohol online and comply with all Australian Federal and State requirements for the sale of alcohol. We may also prohibit sales of alcohol from overseas.

Contracts or services of any kind.

Art: All art sold must comply with intellectual property laws. All prints Offered for sale must be either original works or appropriately licensed. High value works of art is not allowed.

Used products of any kind (excluding manufacturer or seller refurbished electronics, or some vintage clothing or accessories).

Vintage Clothing. We allow sales of some vintage clothing, handbags or accessories, but we generally look for luxury brand items. General sales of vintage or used clothing are prohibited.

Currency, coins, stamps or counterfeit currency and stamps.

Food:  Sale  of fresh foods and perishables is not allowed, however packaged, dry and long-life foods are acceptable.

Credit cards or financial products.

Baby & Kids category: We do not allow certain high-risk items. All goods you sell must comply with mandatory standards.

Drugs and drug paraphernalia. This includes pipes, bongs and other drug taking equipment. Any information or products designed to circumvent drug tests are also banned.

Refurbished products. We allow sellers to sell approved refurbished products in selected categories only. Martmox team approval is required to sell refurbished items.

Embargoed goods and prohibited countries – examples include items from Cuba, North Korea, Syria, or Iran.

Consumer Electronics: Due to compliance requirements, Martmox team approval is required for any products that contain button cell batteries or plug into a power source.

Event tickets of any kind.

As of 01/04/2022: Martmox team approval is required  to sell disposable protective face masks; including M95, KN95, R95 and multi-ply masks.

Firearms, weapons and knives – examples include pepper spray, replicas and stun guns, but excludes some camping equipment.

Gift cards or stored value cards.

Government documents, IDs and licenses.

Government and transit items – examples include airplane operations manuals and airline uniforms.

Hazardous, restricted or regulated materials – examples include batteries, fireworks and refrigerants.

Human remains and body parts.

Lockpicking devices.

Multi-level marketing, pyramid and matrix programs, or products from these programs.

Personal relationships and services – examples include dating and escort services, and website traffic – driving services.

Police related items such as replica uniforms or badges (but excludes obvious Halloween or other costumes).

Postage meters.

Prescription drugs.

Real estate.

Recalled items.

Stocks and other securities.

Stolen property.

Surveillance equipment – examples include wiretapping devices and telephone bugging devices.
